CV Axles are the shaft assemblies that connect your vehicles wheels to the drivetrain. They have a greased joint that allows the axle to flex according to the road conditions. When a CV axle begins to fail you will notice a clicking noise when turning. You may even notice grease appearing on the edge of your tire or wheel, this is typically a sign that there is a torn boot ad it is allowing the grease to leak out while the vehicle is moving. There could be excessive vibrations while driving. When a CV axle is damaged, it becomes unbalanced while rotating and can interfere with the handling and ride of the vehicle. When the CV axle becomes extremely worn, the joints will become lose and eventually snap apart. When you have signs of a worn or failing CV axle, schedule an appointment with our ASE Certified Auto Technicians so they can inspect and diagnose the repairs that need to be made to keep your vehicle driving straight and smooth.
