New Jersey laws require all vehicles to meet and exceed the emission standards. To make sure vehicles are in compliance, there is specific testing performed by evaluating the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) computer to any vehicle manufacturer after 1996. This test checks the computers that are integrated into your vehicle and lets it read if there are any underlying problems. All vehicles manufactured prior to 1996 will be required to take a test on a machine called a dynameter. If any vehicles fail, it must be repaired to be allowed to operate on the road. Our ASE Certified Technicians have the proper equipment to promptly repair any underlying issues that are preventing your vehicle from passing and get you back on the road quickly.
If you notice the “check engine” light on the dashboard, it is imperative that you schedule it to have it diagnosed and repaired prior to taking it for the vehicle emission test.
